The Sweet Taste of Survival: An Un-BEE-lievable Story

In July 2020, Savage Sulphur Enterprise departed Galveston, Texas en route for Tampa, Florida. Upon arrival, the crew found a few (thousand) stowaways — a huge mass of honey bees attached to the vessel’s anchor had survived the four day, 600-mile journey across the Gulf of Mexico!

Our crew contacted the Bee Rescue of Florida and a local beekeeper came to the rescue. After the queen was safely transported into a portable hive, the swarm of 30,000 quickly followed and now call Tampa Bay home.

Six months later we have our first-ever batch of Savage Anchor Chain Honey. Finding a better way has never been sweeter!
