We work to make a positive difference for society by moving and managing products and materials that are vital to people’s everyday lives. We are committed to performing our work safely and in an environmentally responsible way. We are actively involved in the communities where our Team Members live and work, and we always strive to be good neighbors.
Through our Savage Cares program and involvement with the United Way and other non-profit organizations, we provide volunteer efforts and contributions to help support many worthwhile causes in communities where we operate. Our focus areas for company giving include education, public safety, and support for military families and veterans.
Savage is a longtime partner of United Way of Salt Lake, and Team Members at the Service Support Center in Midvale, Utah have provided strong support for United Way’s annual giving campaigns for many years. We also participate in the United Way of Salt Lake’s annual Day of Caring and other service projects throughout the year to help our neighbors in need.
Our leadership team, including operations managers and other leaders throughout the company, has provided service in cities throughout the country at our annual Savage Leaders Forum, working together with their spouses and guests to make a difference. In 2017, we partnered with Rise Against Hunger to package 276,912 meals for children and families around the world. In 2019, we partnered with United Way of Salt Lake to pack 13,000 literacy/math kits and 1,200 classroom kits for teachers in Title 1 schools.
Savage is also a sponsor of the Jr. Jazz youth basketball program. Between 50,000 to 60,000 young people in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Arizona and Nevada participate in Jr. Jazz each year, making it one of the largest youth sports programs in the world. Run through recreation departments in each state, young players have the opportunity to learn basketball fundamentals and practice those skills in league games.
